WHO  STUDENTS: 300 students in grades 6-12 will be accepted.
JUDGES: About 240 judges are needed; click here for judges' information.
WHAT  A presentation, two rounds of judging, lunch, a public exhibition, and awards ceremony, at which winning students are chosen to attend the Colorado State Science Fair, to be held April 8-10, 2010 and the International Science Fair to be held May 9-14, 2010 in San Jose, CA. Click here for a detailed PPRSF schedule.
WHY  The Science Fair has several aims:
  • To stimulate students to take a more active interest in the study of science and mathematics;
  • To encourage able students, through experiment and competition, to consider scientific careers;
  • To provide a means of reward and recognition;
  • To arouse interest in the scientific ability of young people by affording capable students an opportunity to reveal the results of their extracurricular work.
HOW  Generally, the Fair works on simple principles:
  • Students create projects which are exhibited at the Fair.
  • Students complete individual or group entry forms at this site and submit them ON PAPER by Friday, February 2, 2010. Signed scientific supervision forms must be mailed to arrive by February 2, 2010.
  • On Fair Day, hundreds of judges then evaluate the projects and award some very nice prizes at the award ceremony.
All these activities are conducted under a slightly modified set of rules from the International Science Fair.
Of course, the Fair is not possible without our sponsors and board of directors.
RULES  The rules don't change often. We follow the ISEF Rules with local modifications that reduce the number of divisions. We use our own special forms -- don't use the forms at the ISEF link!
